Survival of the Human Spirit: Triumph Over Adversity
The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education has been privileged to have a group of Holocaust survivors dedicated to its mission of teaching about the Holocaust and promoting the elimination of hatred in all its forms.
In 2004 Chhange published the book To Tomorrow’s Children. In it, Holocaust survivors provide 500-word essays in which they recall moments in their Holocaust experience, closing the essays with messages to future generations. In 2004, the contents of this award-winning book were transformed into the traveling exhibit Survival of the Human Spirit: Triumph Over Adversity.
The Exhibit’s Goals:
- Promote humane values
- Encourage pursuit of information on the Holocaust, genocide and prejudice
- Generate discussions that relate to the dangers of bigotry
- Show how the human spirit can triumph over adversity
