Women's Experiences in the Holocaust

Chhange and the Center for World War II Studies & Conflict Resolution invite you to a discussion of women’s slave labor experiences during the Holocaust. Marisa Fox, documentarian and daughter of a Holocaust survivor, joins us to discuss her new documentary, focused on the slave labor of women at Gabersdorf Labor Camp in Poland.

Marisa’s search to understand her mother’s survival story led to the discovery of a slave labor operation that oppressed thousands of women during the Holocaust. The women of Gabersdorf Labor Camp were subjected to inhumane conditions as they spun flax into thread for German uniforms. After the Holocaust, their pain went unrecorded until now--Marisa Fox’s documentary sheds light on these stories and shares these women’s testimonies with the world. Her research includes new information about forced labor and sexual violence during the Holocaust.
