Wednesday, July 15, 2020

Zoom Meeting
Free Event for Educators, Students, & Community Members
Throughout the 20th century, "human rights" became a rallying cry of many oppressed groups around the world. By fighting for human rights, educators, activists, and oppressed people have found ways to push back against racism, antisemitism, and all forms of hate. But how did we get here? And how does it work? This Lunch & Learn will explore a brief history of the evolution of human rights, human rights abuses including genocide, international legal mechanisms for protecting human rights, and the role of the United States.
Sara will draw from her work and volunteer experiences in the field and in the classroom, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on human rights.
Pre-registration is required for Zoom URL.
