Council of Holocaust Educators Annual Conference 2025
Educators joined us in person Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, for this important conference at the Student Life Center on the Campus of Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ.
Our workshops included:
- A conversation between Professor Gregory Aftandilian, discussing his research on Armenian-American soldiers who were Second-Generation Armenian Genocide Survivors who liberated Nazi camps during WWII, and Rachael Cerrotti, discussing her grandmother's wartime history, which she wrote about in We Share the Same Sky, was moderated by Alexandra Zapruder, author of Salvaged Pages: Young Writers' Diaries of the Holocaust.
- An exploration by Dr. Heather Monen — by drawing upon personal legacy, students’ ancestral quests, and our collective experiences in the classroom — of how meaning and memory are contained within objects, what stories objects tell, how they are transmitted, and why they are important in the teaching of the Holocaust and Genocide.
