Kevin McMillan, Professor
Kevin McMillan was born in Harlem and at an early age moved to the Bronx where he graduated from Harry S. Truman High School. He went on to earn a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.A. in Economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University and has done post-graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School’s Aresty Institute of Executive Education. He is also a Certified Municipal Official from Rutgers University.
McMillan has more than a decade of experience in myriad positions in Customer Relations and Energy Services at GPU/Jersey Central Power& Light Company and has worked more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry for such companies as Roche, Eli Lilly, Quintiles and Sanofi. Presently, he works for Pfizer in the Rare Disease Division as a Sickle Cell Therapeutic Specialist.
McMillan served 18 years on the Neptune Township Committee and was selected as mayor three times. In 2013, he was a candidate for the New Jersey State Assembly. McMillan has served as a board member and president of several nonprofit organizations in New York and New Jersey. He is a member of the Neptune Drug Alliance and the League of Municipalities Legislative Committee. McMillan is on the Advisory Board for Jazz 4 Prostate Cancer.
McMillan believes in the mantra “Be All You Can Be, Read!” His favorite author is Sidney Sheldon and his favorite poem is “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. McMillan and his wife, Renee, reside in Neptune, NJ. They have three children: Shanae, Shannan, and Sean and one granddaughter, Elise.
