JoAnn Abraham
JoAnn Abraham has taught English in Matawan High School, been the editor of The Jewish Voice, managed national advertising for State of Israel Bonds, and was Director of Communication Projects for what is now Jewish Federations of North America. She also owned and managed a retail store, and is now a freelance writer and marketer.
While at The Jewish Voice, Abraham covered the development of what was then called the Center for Holocaust Studies at Brookdale Community College – the precursor of Chhange. She was one of only four journalists in the U.S. chosen by UJA to travel to Israel to cover Israel’s first war in Lebanon. Her articles earned special recognition by the American Jewish Press Association, the first time it recognized articles appearing in a small community newspaper. Abraham is involved with Temple Beth Ahm, the Jewish Federation and continues to be published nationally and internationally.
